The Serrania de Chiribiquete National Nature Park lies in the heart of the Colombian Amazon.
This natural and cultural treasure of the Colombian people is now a World Heritage Site.
It is the largest tropical humid jungle national park on the planet. It now covers 4.3 million protected hectares. Chiribiquete is home to thousands of species and dozens of different ecosystems, unique in the world. It is also a place where traces of the various indigenous cultures present in the region can be found, notably in pictograms, some of which are said to be 20,000 years old.
It’s also a refuge for deliberately isolated indigenous communities, and a natural barrier against climate change and deforestation in the Amazon.
