Active research and proposals for potential shooting locations according to requirements

Scouting

Manage the various on-site scouting operations to meet project requirements as closely as possible

Castings

Manage local castings to find the right people

Authorizations / Refunds

Management of various filming authorizations, tax credits, refunds, etc. Film commission, customs, drone, etc…

Local crew

Management of all local technical aspects, whether in terms of talent (audiovisual, artistic, construction, security, etc.) or equipment (containers, generators, site equipment, etc.).

Logistic

Total management of logistics for the duration of the project (transport, accommodation, food, etc.)

Cultural context

Explain to crews the social and cultural contexts of shooting locations, the customs and traditions to be respected

Translation

Translation between the various participants in the set if necessary

Unforeseen

Adapt in real time to unforeseen situations that may arise during filming.

The production of a reality TV show (or any other) requires a great deal of upstream preparation. The production company needs to rely on a really solid local team with absolute confidence. Les apprentis aventuriers (The apprentice adventurers)

Context: Les Apprentis Aventuriers is a French reality show broadcast on W9 since May 23, 2016 and presented by Laurent Maistret from season 5. The show features reality TV contestants competing in physical and mental challenges in a hostile environment. Contestants are divided into pairs and must win amulets to avoid elimination. The pair with the most amulets at the end of the adventure wins the season.

Pre-production / Project in progress

This project requires a total of around one hundred people

  • +/- 35 production staff from France (technical team, production, communications, game competitors, etc.)
  • +/- 65 local people managed by Mediafixer (trilingual fixers, coordinators, decorators, construction craftsmen, site machinists, electricians, plumbers, transporters, security, etc.). )

 

Mediafixer’s mission

  • Search for potential locations in several Latin American countries. As the specifications were very complex (wild and paradisiacal location, access, authorizations, transport, logistics, rapid access to hospitals, security,… ), we had to multiply our proposals.
  • On-site scouting (video, photo, drone), measurements of the different areas (production, artistic, games, access via the slopes, etc.).
  • Scouting of hotels, restaurants, etc.
  • Start of negotiations with rental owners
  • Complete budgeting of the local area
